Elias Lima, Chemical Technologies Project Manager

At ChampionX, we welcome employees seeking to transition from other industries. That’s because we know cross-disciplinary thinking often fosters innovation—and, that people interested in making such a change are usually motivated, thoughtful, and eager to engage in new fields.

Elias Lima, one of our cost optimization managers, is based in Latin America, but he came to us from a research and development position at a pharma-chemical company. He made the move because he wanted a new challenge, and to have the chance to work toward the future of the energy industry. Now, seventeen years later, Elias has held positions in sales, procurement, health and safety, and marketing, before finding his current role just over two years ago.

Elias described how his career has been affected by the culture at ChampionX, including the need for employees to be able to define personal and professional goals: “Discussions between colleagues are always very open. For me, it’s a reward to work with different people within the company every day. If someone chooses to work for ChampionX, they should know that they will not only need to keep studying, stay open to options, and expect to do more than just what a manager says, but will also be encouraged to have goals and aspirations.”

We know employees like Elias—who are able to identify and work toward personal and professional goals—are key to our success as a company, and to our ability to work and grow in new ways.
