Production & Automation Technologies Spotlight - Carlos Montilla 

As sales director for ChampionX Artificial Lift’s Asia Pacific geomarket, Carlos Montilla is accustomed to measuring performance by the numbers, but he says his team ultimately calculates success using a metric that is not necessarily related to sales figures: How are we improving lives?

“Everything we do must align with a 360-degree view of improving lives for all stakeholders, including customers, employees and their families, and the communities in which we live. We want to better everyone and leave no one behind,” he remarks

In a vast and diverse geographic territory spanning some of the world’s most populous areas and encompassing some of its most challenging projects, the ability to positively impact all stakeholders is vital to maintaining a license to operate. “We must demonstrate how to operate more sustainably to enable customers to safely produce the energy Asia Pacific needs while also positioning themselves to bridge the gap between fossil fuels and renewables,” Montilla states.

Accomplishing that requires a deep understanding of each customer’s unique challenges and how to deliver purpose-fit solutions in the most commercially viable manner. “Every customer is different,” he notes. “ChampionX’s customer-driven focus gives us the ability to tailor our technology, expertise, and global footprint to bring a solution to the table that fits exactly what the customer needs.”

Montilla says he is eager to visit with IPTC attendees about how ChampionX’s value differentiators relate to their specific operations. “This is the first regional event for the PAT team since before the pandemic. I look forward to reconnecting with customers and getting a better read of what’s new in their worlds, what they face in sustainability challenges, and how we can collaborate to overcome those challenges.”
