Hydrostatic Testing Consultation

Pipeline Pigging and Cleaning Program Development

Hydrostatic testing using RenewIQ biocide reduces microbial levels
A crude oil pipeline company requested assistance with an upcoming hydrostatic test on a newly installed 6.5-mile line segment of 12” pipeline. The test utilized pond water as the pressuring fluid. The customer requested a chemical management program to clean the water, reduce bacterial infiltration, and remove dissolved oxygen to minimize the internal corrosion potential. Iron sulfide program mitigates corrosion risk by eliminating electrical shorts in flanges
ChampionX collaborated with a pipeline operator in the Northern Marcellus Shale to implement a non-acidic iron sulfide mitigation program that reduced the customer’s investment risk, brought the asset into compliance with NACE standards, and decreased the asset’s risk of external corrosion failure.
