Our Response to COVID-19
At ChampionX, we take pride in helping customers address their toughest challenges and succeed in good times as well as difficult times in the world’s most remote and challenging environments. We accomplish this through our biggest strength – our people. During the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we remain steadfast in our commitment to help our customers continue their operations safely and sustainably, while protecting our associates, their families, and our communities.
Keeping safety at the forefront
One of our top priorities is the safety and health of our people. Our Goal Zero safety commitment remains in place, and we’ve taken many additional measures to keep our people safe during the pandemic. In the early days of the pandemic, we activated our global and regional crisis management teams in response to COVID-19. These teams continue to monitor and respond to the fast-changing circumstances.
These teams took decisive actions to reduce the risk of spread and infection, as well as mitigate the impacts of this pandemic to our business operations, our employees and the communities in which we operate.
Across ChampionX, we implemented business continuity plans to ensure continued service. Depending on the function, ChampionX team members are now subject to our remote-working guidelines, allowing those who can work from home the ability to telecommute and limit in-person interaction. We have strictly limited all non-essential travel and non-essential visits to ChampionX locations by outside parties.
For our essential on-site associates, we implemented guidelines to help safeguard their health and safety, including rotational shifts, appropriate social distancing, masking protocols, and enhanced hygienic work standards.
We continue to monitor and follow national and local health authority requirements and provisions regarding the pandemic, including clear quarantine protocols regarding exposure to COVID-19.
Focusing on security of supply
Our supply chain and procurement teams are actively implementing and tracking business continuity plans and working closely with our suppliers, partners, and manufacturing sites around the world to safeguard our ability to meet our customers’ needs. Our longstanding strategy is to produce locally where possible, and this has served us and our customers well throughout the pandemic.
Critical infrastructure designation
With the continued global impact of COVID-19, some increased restrictions on business operations remain in place with exemptions for businesses considered essential. ChampionX has been classified as an essential service under these designations in our key markets. As a result, we have not experienced significant impact to our supply chain or manufacturing capabilities as a result of these restrictions, and we will continue to produce and deliver safely the products and services our customers need to maintain their operations.
Additionally, we are working diligently with our suppliers in affected areas to overcome any global supply chain and transportation challenges, helping to minimize disruption to our customers’ critical product and service needs.
Our teams in the field are working closely with our customers to safeguard the health and safety of our people and those around them.
Keeping you informed - a note to our valued customers
Our team members will keep you updated about our protocols and response to the current situation and will reach out to you if we anticipate any impact to your business.
We are proud to be your partner as we all work together to minimize disruption created by the ongoing pandemic. These are difficult times, but as we’ve done in the past, we will overcome this new challenge together.
We sincerely thank you for your continued partnership and recognize the trust you put in ChampionX to serve you every day.
We are engaged with communities where we live and work in the fight against COVID-19.
ChampionX employees live our purpose of Improving Lives every day, as our response to COVID-19 demonstrates. For example, our US Synthetic team in Orem, Utah, employed innovative 3D printing technologies to supply protective masks to first responders in Utah at the height of the pandemic. Team members in some of our other locations have donated PPE to local healthcare facilities. In the Middle East, our teams have organized donations such as hand sanitizer and supplies for local food drives.
In the wake of the mid-2021 Covid-19 surge that left India grappling for medical oxygen and other essentials to save lives, ChampionX stepped up to provide financial assistance that supported medical aid, helping the country overcome a pandemic case surge.
Working in partnership with the non-profit organization Sewa International USA, corporate and employee donations helped fund the shipment of 400 oxygen concentrators along with other emergency medical devices and supplies to India. These critical supplies were distributed to the hardest-hit rural areas of the country, helping speed the community’s recovery.
