Vic Keasler, Director Research, Development & Engineering, Chemical Technologies
Research and development is key to the work we do at ChampionX—it’s through our robust RD&E departments that we identify and pursue new implementations of technology, trying to find what we call “long-term transformational innovation”—those products and services that will change the way our customers will work in the future.
Vic Keasler, our director of research, development, and engineering joined ChampionX fourteen years ago, coming to us from work as a scientist in the molecular biology industry. He now heads our RD&E team in Sugar Land, Texas, where his time as a research scientist continually informs his leadership style: “we come at [problems] from different perspectives, different backgrounds, and different training, and so that brings ideas that are maybe out of the box,” he said in describing RD&E at ChampionX.
Vic’s team works in two ways: to identify and optimize current practices in place at ChampionX today, and to develop solutions to the problems of the future, thinking about how the energy sector will work more efficiently, and toward global goals of sustainability. These efforts help ChampionX remain a worldwide leader.
As Vic can tell you, RD&E impacts every aspect of what we do at ChampionX, from manufacturing to sales to marketing. We know the world is changing, and one way we can respond positively is to invest in RD&E—and people like Vic Keasler.
