RenewIQ® bacteria control and monitoring delivers 30% savings and healthier wells
An independent producer in the DJ Basin was struggling to control bacteria in their completion fluids resulting in high bacteria and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) levels on new wells early in production life. This in turn forced the producer to start treating the wells with an H2S scavenger increasing their LOE costs. Continuous treatment of the completion fluids with BIOC16779A resulted in an average microbiological kill of 97.8% over 50 stages. Chemical batch treatment of the coil tubing drill out fluid using BIOC16779A also resulted in a significant reduction in microbial risk with average microbiological kill of 96.8%.
RenewIQ® solution reduces bacteria and treatment cost of produced water by 25%
To deal with the San Juan Basin’s limited water resources, the Mancos Shale operator recycled fracturing fluids and produced water for reuse in some stages of completions. ChampionX began its investigation by collecting samples of fluids present in the field and identifying incumbent chemicals being used by the operator to manage water issues. Since replacing the incumbent biocide with RenewIQ solution BIOC16779A biocide, the Mancos Shale operator has realized a 25-percent reduction in total water- treatment cost.
RenewIQ® application leads to increased production in a well prone to blockage
A major oil and gas producer near Estevan, Saskatchewan, was facing reduced production from a Midale formation well after a long shut-in and repeated downtime. A ChampionX Senior Account Manager investigated and identified xylene-insoluble organics as the cause of downhole plugging. Using RNIQ04187A mixed with water for a near-wellbore cleanout, ChampionX effectively dissolved the deposits, restoring flow. The single-well treatment delivered an estimated $86,486 in added revenue and saved the customer about $30,000 per future workover.
