Excess water production is a common problem in waterdrive oil and gas reservoirs, resulting in high water-cuts and operational expenses. ChampionX Bulk Gel Technology is placed in the offending water flow paths to block the subsequent flow of water through those zones while maintaining or increasing oil production. The best candidates for water shut-off are wells with:

• Natural water drive reservoirs
• High water-cuts
• High fluid levels which are the best candidates to observe significant oil rate increases
• Sufficient remaining mobile oil reserves
• Water and oil flowing to the wellbore through different paths (i.e. fracture vs. matrix)

ChampionX has developed a variety of chemistries to revitalize onshore and offshore mature wells. Application of this technology can extend the life of existing wells, improve well productivity, injectivity, and result in additional oil recovery.
