ChampionX scale dissolvers are applied continually or by batch treatment to remove scale deposition in topside equipment and near the wellbore. They are highly compatible with challenging oilfield brines and highly effective against barite, calcite, gypsum, and other exotic scales.

ChampionX halite inhibitors consist of a multifunctional technology that controls halite as well as inhibits common scales in low temperature and high TDS environments. They can reduce fresh water usage up to 50%, saving operators in transporation and disposal fees, while the winterized product removes the need for blankets for chemical storage tanks.

Mitigating scale deposition and preventing corrosion is critical during oil and gas production. Corrosion negatively affects the integrity of your assets, potentially leading to downtime, safety risks, and additional costs due to equipment failures. These risks to flow assurance and asset integrity are often found together and are then magnified when iron sulfide is present in the system.

In response to these challenges, ChampionX offers an extensive portfolio of multifunctional products to the onshore and offshore markets that effectively clean hydrocarbons while also providing corrosion and scale protection.

In oil and gas production, particularly in aging assets, deposition in flowlines and water processing systems is a common and costly problem. Deposition consists of a variety of different components, one of which is iron sulfide (FeS). The formation and build-up of iron sulfide (FeS) and/or inorganic scale can result in loss of production due to issues such as plugging, corrosion, flow restriction and emulsions. Historical methods for treating these issue have proven to be either ineffective and costly or have led to additional problem such as enhanced corrosion or hydrogen sulfide formation.

To address these challenges, ChampionX has developed an innovative, multi-functional portfolio of products which act as a cleaner, corrosion inhibitor, iron sulfide dissolver and scale inhibitor. These products have very low corrosivity and have proven effective in several different onshore and offshore applications.
